Kolkata, Sept 29, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, on Wednesday unveiled the 7th edition of Aagomoni – an evening of musical extravaganza on the eve of Mahalaya to greet Goddess Durga. Enjoy the special offer and celebrate DURGA PUJA 2010.
Present at the occasion was Sridhar Rao, CEO Vodafone Essar East Limited along with eminent artists like Srikanto Acharya, Lopamudra Mitra, Bickram Ghosh and Bratati Bandopadhyay.
The Aagomoni celebrations will be held at Nazrul Manch on October 6. The night long musical fiesta will present an amalgamation of soirees, recitals and a blend of Classical, Rabindrasangeet, Folk and Fusion music.
The first half of the programme is dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore which will have recitations, songs, musical plays based on his work.

There will be recitation by Soumitro Chattopadhyay, Bratati Bandyopadhyay, Rabindrasangeet by Srikanto Acharya and Lopamudra Mitra and musical one-act play of Tagore directed by Bibhas Chakraborty of Anya Theatre, Fusion music based on Tagore’s work by Violin brothers & Aniruddha (Sasha) Ghosal will also be a part of the night long musical rendition.
The other part of the programme will present performances by Pt Ajoy Chakroborty, Rupankar, Usha Uthup and Bickram Ghosh. Satinath Mukhopadhyay and Chaiti Ghosal will be the comperes for the evening.
