Minister Fatakesto - Mithun Chakrabarty

Minister Fatakesto - Mithun Chakrabarty

Mithun Chakrabarty is has done 2 Fatakesto so far. Will there be another one?
The Fatakesto 1 was named “MLA Fatakesto” directed by Swapan Saha. The bengali blockbuster film was produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. Now Shree Venkatesh Films will be presenting us with yet another Mithun Chakrabarty packed Minister Fatakesto. This sequel movie will also be directed by Swapan Saha. There are very few (if not none) bengali films with a sequel number.

Minister Fatakesto did not do as good as MLA Fatakesto last year. It was a big budget movie with production cost more than two crores.

Tagline for Minister Fatakesto: “Sonar Bangla Kaar? Thik Korben Minister Fatakesto“.

We saw Mithun not only as an Actor but also as an singer in this film with the item number “Age Chilam Local Gunda Re“.

Review:

Ramgopal Varma is back with yet another splindid HORROR film - PHOONK!

The story of Phoonk features Sudeep, who is a successful Construction Engineer and a strong atheist. Susdeep has a doting wife Amruta Khanvilkar and two children of age 10 and 8. Being super non-believer, Susdeep does not approve of the existence of God and even the black magic powers. However, his very existence and his beliefs are threatened, when an evil power grips his loved ones, the existence of which his rational mind denies to accept. Entrangled with this, is ayer nother story of a fanatic believer of God, who is forced to become a non believer under traumatic circumstances.

The film is quite scary, surpassing the fear of Ram Gopal Verma’s previous horror movie, ‘Bhoot’. The performances led by Sudeep are top notch, the little girl Raksha deserves special kudos for such subtle and imaginative portrayel of a girl plagued by black magic. Though I find the characterizations sketchy but good enough to drive this sleek, simple but powerful film.

According to the bollywood box office, Phoonk has opened every very strongly with about 90% collections all over. This is surely technically one of the best films of this year.  A powerful emotional drama with correct doses of thrill, Phoonk more than a horror film emerges as an emotional film.
