Bangalore, Sep 14 (Calcutta Tube) Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces Tuesday said 16 of their hotels have rolled over to the new brand, Vivanta by Taj Hotels & Resorts.
The Vivanta brand is slotted in the 5-Star upper upscale segment, India’s largest hospitality group said in a release.
With the 16 hotels moving over to the new brand, the total number of the group’s hotels under it will come to 19 with a total capacity of 2,500 rooms, it said.
‘An aggressive expansion programme is already in place which will see the brand grow organically to more than 30 hotels with over 5,000 rooms over the next two years,’ the release said.
Managing director and CEO Raymond Bickson of the Indian Hotels Company Ltd, which owns the Taj hotels, said: ‘The launch of Vivanta by Taj Hotels & Resorts heralds a new chapter in the 107-year history of the Taj.’
